Arkham City Harley Cosplay & Tips or Inside Harley's Closet

If you're cosplaying as Harley from Arkham City, you may want to adjust the shirt unless you want to show too much chest. The overshirt is fine as long as you wear some thing underneath it. A tanktop painted half red and half black works wonderfully (everyone wanted my picture). Not only parents approve of this, but so do other Harley cosplayers. Pants are an easy find, they're available online or you could pull a me and use leggings you already have. I used a white belt, better contrasting on the black and red. As for the boots, Color Duck Tape is your friend.Use black or red boots and use duck tape to cover the boot of the wrong color. I used duck tape of both colors to add height. For gloves and sleeves, I used the sleeve from the undershirt for the red one and a knitted sleeve for the black one. The gloves are just dollar rack ones from a place like Joann's or Fred Meyer with duct tape diamonds. Just cut off the fingertips. The necklace I chrocheted with sparkly black yarn and I used an old belt buckle. The braclets are the same sparkly black as the necklace with gray spikes I chrocheted and then attached them. Hair is easy, just do pigtails with one black and one red hairtie (you don't have to spray paint your hair if you don't want to). Finally, the corset. You probably want to use a sewing machine for this instead of hand stiching it like the rest ( you don't have to hand stitch it all, but I hand stitched every thing but the corset) because the corset has to pull tight. Use fabric paint for the horizontal bands and buckles, as well as the metallic studs.  The vertical lines should be done with a Sharpie or other marker.  Make-up is white make-up from a store like Spirit Halloween or Party City. Black eyeshadow can be found at Sally Beauty or just about any where around Halloween. The tattoos can be done with skin markers or washable markers.

Arkham Asylum vs. Arkham City : Better game, better costume

In Arkham Asylum, Harley wore a little nurse's uniform ( I never got the purple, though). And while I liked the skirt,  it was too short that even I can't deny that she looked like a slut and I love her like a best friend.  I know that she was not only a comic book character, but a video game character. It wasn't nearly as bad as Suicide Squad, but it was much better in Arkham City. In Arkham City, not only does she wear pants, but it is all in all more in the spirit of Harley Quinn. It is red and black instead of red and purple, and more red and black than white. She still shows some chest, but apart from that, it's really not all that bad. Sure, she shows midriff, but look at Poison Ivy. She shows more of both chest and midriff in both games.  Also, her Puddin' is sick and she probably wants to please him before he dies (Sniff snif).  See Arkham City Harley Cosplay.

Arkham City Boots

I think I'll buy fake leather from Joann's for my Arkham City boots. Red and black fake leather. And I'll use white duck tape for the design because it contrasts well with both red and black.

Harley Cosplay at GeekGirlCon 2012

GeekGirlCon, the celebration of geeky gals, was amazing this year. My costume was Harley from Arkham City, and I loved my costume (Yes, I did make it, yes it was hand-stitched). I covered one of my black boots with duct tape and used silver to do the design.
